Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 29 March 2026
Last updated: 2 April 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Dothatshi (https://dothatshi.com, dothatshi.in, dothatshi.online), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Dothatshi (Udyam registered entity, India).
2. About the Platform
Dothatshi is a commitment contract platform. Users create or join commitment contracts, set personal goals, commit real money to their completion, and are held accountable through referees, community verification, and platform rules.
By participating, you acknowledge that committing money to a contract carries the risk of forfeiting that amount if you do not complete your goal. Forfeited amounts are directed to your chosen forfeit destination (charity, Motivation Boost cause, or the platform community pool).
How It Works
- Set a goal and choose a contract type (Personal Contract, Head-to-Head, Group Pact, Expert Contract, Open Challenge, Impact Challenge, or Public Dare)
- Commit a contract amount from your wallet. A 5% platform service fee is added on top.
- Select a forfeit destination: where your money goes if you don't complete. Choose a charity, a Motivation Boost cause, or the platform community pool.
- Nominate referees to verify your completion (Platform Referees or Guest Referees)
- Submit proof before your deadline
- On success: your full contract amount is returned. On failure: it is forfeited to your chosen destination.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- You must be a resident of India
- You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration
- You must not have a previously suspended or terminated Dothatshi account
- You must have a valid bank account or payment instrument registered in India
4. User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You may not share, transfer, or sell your account to any other person
- One account per user is permitted
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us immediately at support@dothatshi.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
5. Payments and Commitments
Dothatshi enables users to commit real money to personal contracts using our integrated payment gateway.
How committing works
- Adding funds to your wallet involves a real payment transaction processed by our payment gateway
- Committing funds to a contract moves the contract amount from your Available Balance to your At Stake balance. It is not a debit until a forfeit event occurs
- If you complete a contract successfully, your committed funds are returned or increased based on the contract type and rules
- If you fail a contract, your committed funds are forfeited in part or in full to your chosen forfeit destination. This is the forfeit event
- A 5% platform service fee is charged at contract creation, added on top of the contract amount
All payments are processed through a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Dothatshi does not store your card details or banking credentials.
Dothatshi reserves the right to correct wallet balances in cases of technical error, fraudulent activity, or policy violations.
6. Platform Service Fee
Dothatshi charges a 5% service fee on every contract at the time of creation. The fee is added on top of the contract amount, so your full commitment is always at risk. The platform fee is non-refundable except in the case of a Draw (Head-to-Head only) or contract Expiry, where both the contract amount and the fee are returned.
Dothatshi earns the same fee whether you succeed or forfeit. We do not profit from your failure. Dothatshi reserves the right to update fee structures with 7 days notice to users.
7. Forfeit Destinations
When creating a contract, you must select a forfeit destination: where your contract amount goes if you do not complete your goal. The three options are:
- Charity — a verified charity from our curated list. Forfeited amounts are accumulated and donated in monthly batches.
- Motivation Boost — a cause you disagree with from our curated list. The psychological motivation of knowing your failure funds that cause.
- Platform Pool — your forfeited amount funds community rewards, completion bonuses, and platform events.
Your forfeit destination selection is irrevocable. Once a contract is created, the forfeit destination cannot be changed. This is by design. The certainty of where your money goes is part of the commitment mechanism.
8. Referee System
Referees are responsible for verifying whether a contract creator has completed their goal. By serving as a referee, you agree to review submitted proof honestly and submit your verdict within the required timeframe.
Platform Referees
- Must hold an active Dothatshi account
- Earn a referee reward of 12.5% of the forfeited contract amount on honest failure verdicts (subject to minimum and maximum caps)
- Referee rewards are deducted from the forfeited amount before it reaches the forfeit destination
- Referee rewards are non-reversible once paid
- Maintain a referee reliability score on their profile, penalised for dishonest verdicts or non-response
Guest Referees
- Do not require a Dothatshi account
- Invited via email, WhatsApp, or SMS with a unique verification URL
- Can view the commitment, review proof, and submit a verdict (Confirm or Reject)
- Do not earn referee rewards
Referee Responsibilities
- Submit verdicts honestly based on the evidence provided
- Respond within 48 hours of notification. Non-response is treated as Confirm (benefit of the doubt) and penalises reliability score.
- Do not collude with contract creators to produce fraudulent verdicts
- Fraudulent referee behaviour may result in account suspension and forfeiture of referee rewards
9. Contract Rules & Dispute Process
- Contract outcomes are determined by referee verdicts, community voting, and admin verification where applicable
- Users must not create false, misleading, or fraudulent contracts
- Users must not attempt to manipulate contract outcomes or submit false proof
- Expert Contracts require admin-approved expert status before offering verified instruction
- Impact Challenges are subject to additional sponsor terms disclosed at the time of participation
48-Hour Payout Hold & Dispute Mechanism
- After any contract is resolved, there is a mandatory 48-hour hold before payouts are released to any participant
- During this window, any participant may raise a formal dispute through the contract detail page, providing a reason and optional evidence
- A filed dispute freezes all payouts for that contract until admin review is complete
- Admin may uphold the original decision, reverse the outcome (with recalculated payouts), or dismiss the dispute
- If no disputes are raised within 48 hours, payouts are released automatically
- The admin decision on any dispute is final, subject to applicable consumer protection law
10. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Create or participate in contracts designed to deceive or defraud others
- Impersonate any person, entity, or official
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose under Indian law
- Attempt to exploit, hack, scrape, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform
- Upload harmful, offensive, threatening, or defamatory content
